Last week I started a class in coptic book binding. Lesson one was making the covers for the books we will be making.
We learned about cutting the book board, the type of glue to use, the way to cut the paper for the covers, and how to assemble them without bubbles, warping, or any of the book board showing.
All of the supplies were provided and I was able to get two sets of covers done.I’m super happy with how they turned out and can’t wait to learn how to cut and sew the pages to make the books.
I started a bookbinding board on Pinterest to save ideas and inspiration for future books. I’m hoping once I’ve mastered them I can start adding hand crafted journals to my Etsy shop.
